We had a fantastic trip today. The children were wonderful and the weather was beautiful. We saw lots of animals including the giraffes that only arrived yesterday. The children loved meeting the lemurs and enjoyed making a toy for the meerkats to play with. We ate our lunch in the meadow and we took our shoes and socks off and took part in the bare foot trail. The oozy mud was a hit!
Daniella can speak Spanish, Polish and English! Today she taught us how to count to 10 in all three languages.

We have been reading the story ‘Stanley’s stick.’ In the story Stanley pretends his stick is a variety of different things. The children enjoyed finding their own sticks and turning them into whatever they wanted. Here are some pictures, can you guess what they are?
Today we made a bonfire and we burnt our guy that we made last week. The children were fascinated and it brought on a lot of discussions about how they celebrated bonfire night. 
This afternoon we worked with the cookery squad to make a pumpkin soup. We prepared the vegetables and cooked the soup. We then tried our soup with some bread.
Yesterday we went for a walk down to Manor Woods. The children really enjoyed it! We collected sticks and leaves and used our senses to explore the environment around us. It was the perfect launch for our topic this term.
